I love designing spaces for anyone and everyone! At the end of 2015, as I reviewed my business goals, I decided that 2016 would be the year that I would give back. I wanted to use my love of interior design for those in need.  In January of 2016, I partnered with Open Door Ministries, specifically with the women of the Still Waters Housing program. This program provides transitional housing and full scale programs geared toward healing, sobriety, safety and opportunity for women and children coming out of crisis situations (abuse, addiction, sex trafficking).

It is my goal as an interior designer to create and provide beautiful, well-designed living spaces that cultivate confidence, joy and pride for these women as they begin a new chapter of life.

In July of 2016, Pretty Life Designs along with 15 volunteers spent one day renovating a living and dining space at Esther House – a house for women coming out of the sex trafficking industry. We cleaned, painted, hung curtains, added new furniture, rearranged existing furniture and had such a great time. By the end of the day, both rooms had been transformed into beautiful and happy spaces. The rooms are now more efficient and provide the proper space for these women to congregate as a family, connect and have fellowship.

I feel so grateful to be a small part of the big changes in these women’s lives. None of this can happen without the generosity of people who are willing to give their time and money!

We are always looking for people to help us out by donating, volunteering and spreading the word! If you are interested in partnering with us or just want to unleash your inner interior designer, please reach out to me at my email: I would love to talk with you!

Below are a few Before and After shots of the rooms.

The living room at Esther House had a mod podge of furniture, mismatching paint colors and a television that blocked all of the natural sunlight coming in from that big, beautiful picture window. The seating arrangement was awkward and the space was not being utilized to its full potential. A redesign was NECESSARY.

We cleaned, painted two shades of lavender on the walls, reconfigured existing furniture and added new furniture and window treatments. Moving the large television let light flood in through the window, adding a bright and fresh feel to this room.

The Dining Room at Esther House Ugly yellow walls, too much furniture, window treatments that were falling apart. This room had no style or functionality.

A calming lavender color on the walls, clutter free of unused furniture, and new window treatments that are quality made. This is before we hung artwork as well. With a small budget of $800, I’d say we did pretty good! These women now have a refreshing, new space to relax, retreat and live.

My heart is full. These good people came out to help and lend their talents for Still Waters Housing volunteer day. We painted, cleaned, moved furniture and TRANSFORMED two rooms, all with joyful hearts. Thank you for creating a beautiful and peaceful space for the women of the women of Esther House! Couldn’t have done it without you!
